Jo is a Senior Lecturer in Textiles and joined the University of Huddersfield in 2009 with 18 years experience in the clothing industry. Her role as Technical and Sourcing Manager involved extensive travel sourcing and developing the supply chain to deliver innovative, quality products. This role also involved the responsibility for ensuring the environmental and ethical compliance; sustainable and ethical trading remains a research interest. Andrew has pioneered highly interdisciplinary research involving a diverse technologies including 3D, concept modelling, digital sculpting, additive prototyping, and interactive VR within fashion, textiles, product, architecture and design business education in the UK. His interest in user centred design (and human) centred approaches and experimental methods to creatively explore, test, adapt and integrate new thinking, tools and technologies across and between disciplines has been the focus of his practice and ongoing research. Industry projects and consultancy are an integral focus, and build on ten years experience in textiles and plastics design and manufacturing; industrial experience includes; textile designer and colourist for interiors and fashion markets, materials innovation in the production of flexible and rigid PVC compounds for the automotive, medical, aeronautical, interiors, fashion accessories and footwear markets.
